Furthermore, Volunteer for Palestine is committed to teaching various Arabic dialects online, including Palestinian, Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese, and Egyptian, in addition to Modern Standard Arabic. Our goal is to empower learners to communicate effectively in Arabic and actively engage with communities in the Middle East and throughout the Arabic-speaking world.

Arabic students have the flexibility to join our Arabic programs in Palestine for durations ranging from 1 to 13 weeks at any time of the year, including spring, summer, fall, and winter. We can accommodate your preferred starting and ending dates.

You’ll be fully immersed in Palestinian culture, politics, and daily life in Hebron, West Bank. Visiting nearby refugee camps and Palestinian communities will offer a unique opportunity to understand the current human rights situation faced by Palestinian refugees.

The Summer Intensive Arabic Program is perfect for anyone seeking a summer Arabic study abroad experience in the West Bank, Palestine, Israel, or the wider Middle East. Students will be fully immersed in Palestinian culture, politics, and daily life through tours of refugee camps and nearby communities. They will also gain insight into the current human rights situation faced by Palestinian refugees. This Levantine Colloquial Arabic program is designed to be a comprehensive and immersive experience for those seeking a deeper understanding of Levantine culture.

4. Study Palestinian Colloquial Arabic Program

Study Palestinian Colloquial Arabic: Volunteer for Palestine offers a variety of courses in this language. These include intensive Palestinian Arabic courses, winter Arabic programs, summer Arabic programs, and online Palestinian Arabic programs. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who wish to learn the colloquial Palestinian Arabic (Ammiya or Levantine dialect), connect with the broader Palestinian diaspora, and immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Palestine and the Levant.

Scheduling is dependent upon the level and intensity of the selected program; however, courses are generally conducted five days a week for those studying intensively and three days a week for those in non-intensive programs. Those wishing to join Volunteer for Palestine as volunteers or community service members can enroll in 3 complimentary hours of intensive Arabic per week. 

5. Study Modern Standard Arabic Program

Study Modern Standard Arabic (MSA): Volunteer for Palestine offers Super-Intensive, Intensive, and Non-Intensive MSA courses, tailored to six proficiency levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), also known as الفصحى (Fus-ha) or Literary Arabic, is the formal, standardized version of Arabic used in writing, media, and formal communication across the Arab world.

As the foundation for all Arabic dialects, including Levantine, Ammiya, Egyptian, and North African, MSA is an essential choice for learners aiming to master the Arabic language in its full regional context. Regardless of dialect, the vast majority of Arabic speakers will be able to recognize Standard Arabic as it derives directly from the Classical Arabic found in the Qur’an and other historical texts. Because of this close relationship to Classical Arabic, MSA has become the standardized form of contemporary written Arabic.

6. One-on-One Private Arabic Courses

One-on-One Private Arabic Courses (Online & In-Person): Volunteer for Palestine offers personalized, one-on-one Arabic lessons in Palestinian Arabic, Levantine dialect (Levantine Arabic, also called Shami (autonym: ‏شامي‎ šāmi or اللهجة الشامية el-lahje š-šāmiyye), Modern Standard Arabic, and Ammiyya Arabic, available both online and in-person.

Modern Standard Arabic

These private courses are perfect for students who prefer or require the focused attention of an instructor to support their language acquisition. Our tailored approach enables us to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet each student’s specific needs, ensuring a practical and engaging learning experience. Our in-person classes offer students the opportunity to study Arabic for 4-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, providing an immersive and dynamic learning experience.

7. Study Arabic Online Program

Study Arabic Online Program: Besides our in-person programs held at the center, Volunteer for Palestine also offers online Arabic language classes in Modern Standard, Levantine (Shami), and Palestinian Arabic (Ammiya). Depending upon your intended study purpose, each online Arabic program has its advantages, as colloquial variants are better suited for those simply traveling and conversing, whilst Modern Standard is ideal for those needing Arabic professionally.

Dealing with all aspects of language learning, our online Arabic programs focus on phonetics, conversation, writing, reading, and listening comprehension, learning common idioms, completing daily tasks, and discussing various subjects suited for your course level. Doing so ensures you have a wide range of knowledge of Arabic.
